RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.— THIS DAY.
SPECIAL SITTING.
(Before R. C. Barstow, Esq., R.M.) RICHARDS V. ROELS.
In. this action, Mr Laishley for plaintiff, a claim for wages was made by George W. Richards against Philip John Roels, chief officer of the Avoca, in lieu of notice before the expiry of six calendar months, in terms cf agreement. Mr Lai3hley fully stated the particulars of the claim and agreement between the parties, who also gave evidence, the captain alleging damage and carelessness on the part of plaintiff as an excuse for the action he had taken in dismissing plaintiff! His Worship ruled in favour of claimant, and gave judgment tor plaintiff" for £10 13s Bd, costs, £2 16s.
