WELLINGTON, this day. TRAMWAY TRIAL.
A further very successful trial with the tramway was made this afternoon. Two engineers ran through the most crowded part of streets, along the quay to the Queen's Wbarf. Everything passed off well. Horses'took scarcely any notice of the engine. Sharp corners were rounded with a perfect ease, and no stoppages, whenever required, took more than the length of the cars. A vast crowd witnessed the trial. The tramway will be formally opened on Saturday, under the auspices of His Excellency the Governor. " CHRISTCHURCH, this day. CROSS TURNS UP.
