Jupiter.—Twenty-two ounces of gold were obtained from six hundred weight of stuff.
kapanga.;—A large parcel of specimens were reported yesterday.
GRAHAMSTOWN, this day. MINING.
Alburnia.—A good haul of picked stone has been got from the Sons of Freedom Reef, the intermediate level is breaking down. Dixon's reef has not yet started. They resume crushing with the Herald battery on Monday. Piako.—The trial parcel of 15 loads from the No. l(Vanguard reef is being putthrough Bull's battery, and is shewing for payable return. Prince Imperial.—A crushing of 130 tons was started at Prince Alfred battery this morning. Sir George Grey replied to those who had communicated with him on the subject that the matter of the Karaka-Tararu tunnel scheme is being pushed on as rapidly as possible. That possibly legislation might be required. The most important work was to test the gold bearing country between Tararu and Karaka Creeks.
