POLICE COURT.—This Day.
(Before J. Cosgrave, Esq., J.P.) BREAKAGE. A man named Stewart was fined 10s and costs for being drunk, and also ordered to pay for 15 tumblers which he broke on being refused liquor at the Cosmopolitan Hotel. JANE. Jane Kelly, a confirmed drunkard, was sent to gaol for 12 months under the Vagrant Act. A MATRIMONIAL TIFF. Harry Elliot was summoned for illusing his wife, but at t the ladj's request the charge was 'withdrawn, Harry having promised to behave better. HARRY BLACK AGAIN. Henry Black, alias Broome, the victim of the Arch Hill outrage, was charged with stealing some money from Manuel Christian. Mr Pardy said the prisoner had oniy just been arrested, and the detectives were enquiring into the circumstances of the case. There could, however, be no question of his guilt, as he had been seen in the act of committing the robbery. The Inspector requested the Bencn to remand the case till Friday. The prisoner wished to know who saw him commit the robbery. Remanded till Friday.
