No caucus of Auckland members was held yesterday, but a meeting was called for to-day. The subjects to be considered arc the Auckland Loans Consolidation Act, and a Bill enabling the city to validate the lease of surplus land at the Waterworks, including Mr Motion's Mill. ONEIIUN( JA VOLUNTEERS. Mr O'Korke, yesterday, gave notice to ask the Government whether it is true they have rejected an offer of the eeiidces of a Volunteer Corps recently enrolled at Onehunga. And, if such be the case, whether the correspondence will be laid before Parliament. SIR GEORGE GREY AND LANDS' PURCHASE. 1;i the House to-day, a petition was presented from David Williams, of Waikato, praying compensation in respect to services iv the A.C. Force* ©HINEMURI LANDS. Mr Rowe gave notice to ask the Minister of Lands whether lip is aware that portions of tlio lands incluifcd in Ohinemuri goldfield are being purchased for Ohinemuri special settlement ; and whether this is being done with the approval of the Government. MR READER. WOOD. Mr Tole gave notice to ask 14 days' leave of absence to Mr Reader Wood. RAILWAY MANAGEMENT. The Railway Management Committee has been granted a month's extension of time to bring up a report.
