MEETINGS AND AMUSEMENTS.
The Bakers' Ball last evening:, in the Lornestreet hall, was worthy oi! thp character of this useful section of the community, and was largely attended- The hall was modestly decorated tor the occasion, and the sommittee, Messrs -AcLean. Ferguson. Higgins, Parker, Nairn. Gracie, and S'rom,'. deserve credit tor tneir capital arrangements. The rustle of ladies dresses and the iifdit tread of the members of the Association exactly at nine o clock, torn, without words, that the dancing had commenced. The music was supplied by Mr Wright's popular string band, the dancing being under the efficient guidance of Meiers Gracie and Donovan. Refreshments in the first order of taste were liberally suoplied by Mr Wright, and everything passed off with the utmost satisfaction. The last meeting of the Pakuranga Hunt Club will take place on Saturday ; after which the members will dine together, either at tho Harp of Erin or at Kikrslie—the place not having been definitely fixed. The members of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association have issued particulars oj! their next grand Show, to be held on the Prince of Wales' birthday (November <)), in the grounds at Kllerslle. The Couinaittee have determined tooffer first and second-class certificates for cattle, sheep, poultry, doss, pigeons of every description, dairy and farm produce, local industries, plants in pots, cut flowers, fruit, and culinary vegetables.
