KILLED.
LONDON
Tuesday night.
Sulieman Pasha, who has been strongly reinforced in the Shipka Pass, attacked the Russians fronting the Plevna-Gabrova road.
There were twenty thousand men engaged on each side.
The Turks were repulsed, with a loss of two thousand men.
M. Thiers' death at the present crisis in French affairs is considered alarm-
ing.
