(From our own Correspondent.) This day. Bookmakers and the Races.
Most of the bookmakers were hard hit over the Derby, but one of them, Harry Prince, was exuberantly triumphant, yelling out defiantly, "You adjective wretches, I told you so ;" and when Korari rode into the saddling paddock he shied his tutcan into the air tnd said, "Give him a cheer, boys," and they did. He had them that time.
Sir Julius Vcgel. Sir Julius Vogel has written defending himself from certain remarks in a letter from the Crown Loan Agents. He left for Melbourne, in the Somersetshire, on November 15.
