ST. MATTHEW'S FLOWER SHOW
The prizes awarded at the Juvenile Flower Show and Exhibition in St. Matthew's' Church were presented last evening by the Rev. R. S. Hassard, assisted by the Rev W. Calder, as follows : For plain work : Ist prize, Annie Smart, a little girl apparently not ten years old. This prize was a sewingmachine, presented by Mr Dennes with a promise, in addition, to instruct the winner in the art and mystery of using the same. 2nd prize, Amelia Barrett. 2nd class ; Ist, Jane i-haw; 2nd, Alice Cornish. Special prizes : Elizabeth Moberly, Mary Townley, Eliza Cummins, Elizabeth Foster, and Emily Doyle. For models of houses, Robert Chappel received first prize ; Frederick Chappel and Robert Hayward, second For fancy work, Sophia Seufert, Ist prize ; for lace work, Dinah Wedel; for wool work, Emily Doyle and Elizabeth Payne, Ist prizes; for "coseys," AnnajJane Gourley, a Ist prize ; for leather workj Amy Hayward, a Ist prize; for a leather basket, S. E. Seufert; for a leather frame, Mary Shaw and Amelia Barrett; for watch pockets, Harriet Doonin and Sarah Scott; for antimacassars, Florence Payne and Esther htretten also received special prizes in tbis department. George Weymouth received a first prize for a water colour sketch. For matß, Annie Farquhar received Ist prize; Hannah Morrin, Frederick Brinden, and Florence Payne, 2nd prizes. The prizes for flowers were gained by James Capper, Ist; Edith Bloomfield, 2nd and 3rd; special prizes, Marian Kelly, Oliver Waymouth Agnes Wood, Annie Smart, Robert Farquhar, and Fredrick Tattersall. Special were also awarded to the. following

A special prize for a boquet of wild flowers was awarded to Miss Eames.
