(From onr own Correspondent.) This day. Buried AliveAt Queenstown, Hancock, a miner, was killed by a tunnel falling in at Arthur's Point. The deceased lived thirty hours afterwards, but although his voice was continually heard, efforts and relays of men endeavoured to relieve him ineffectually for thirty-six hours. Be was only buried seven feet in.

Judge Chapman, presiding at Supreme Lourt, Lawrence; re Dick, for horse-stealing, sentenced him to eighteen months.

Presbyterian Union. ihe Dunedin Presbyterians, by seven totwo, decided in favour of the union of the Church of Otago with the Church of New Zealand.

Danger of Grej town. Sale of Land At the sale of Crown lands to-day, at the Provincial Buildings, about £1700 worth was sold. There was little demand, the lots being mostly hilly, wooded country.
