(Prom our own Correspondent.) This day. Crushing Returns. The Queen of May's retorting yielded 154 oza 4 dwts, which is fully equal to the former averages. The Queen of Beauty gold, when melted, yielded 548 ozs. Tne City of London gold lost heavily, and when melted yielded 29 ozs 11 dwts. The Bright Smile having fixed the plunger started pumping this morning. Everything is working satisfactorily. They will have the water clear by Thursday, and will resume sinking. The Pumping Association are sending down a cistern and bearers to-day to the bottom of the shaft. The Caledonian crushing is finished. They will retort to-morrow. They have crushed specimens to-day. The yield will be a very fair one. Peterson. The search for Peterson's body in still unsuccessful. A considerable party were out to-day. Miners' Relief Fund. A meeting is to be held to-night in reference to the Miners' Accident Relief Fund, so as to warrent the committee in proceeding with the business of the fund. Recently the subscriptions have fallen off, and matters are to be plainly laid before the subscribers. Pumping Association. The meeting in reference to the Pumping Association will be held to-night, for the purpose of considering the position of the company in reference to the loan of £50,000 for sinking the, shaft and proapectieg the deep levels.
