November 21. The district coroner held an inquest today on the body of David Brown, miner, who was killed by a fdll of coal at the New Wallsend colliery yesterday, thirteen miles from Wallsend The verdict was that, death was caused through a fall of coal, which might have been prevented if deceased had used his sprags properly to support the coal while at \york. A yonng man named Daniel Joseph Bradley died in the lock-up this morning. An inquest was commenced at 10 o'clock and lasted till 2, when a verdict was returned— " Died from alcoholic poisoning." An infant named Janet; Williams, daughter of a miner at Platsburgh, was found dead between the bedstead, and the wall this morning. An inquest is to be held.
