WEST MAITLAND.
November 23. A murder has been committed near Paterson. The body of the murdered man has been found in the river. The head had been severed from the trunk. A rope was tied round, the waist and a heavy stone was attached. The body is very much decomposed. An inquest is beina; held. It is believed that deceased was a stranger in this district.
