On the vessel's arrival this morning the police were communicated with, and Detective Jeffrey made a search, without however, discovering the valuable missing articles. The loss is the more to be deplored, inasmuch as the various ornaments were mainly testimonials presented to Miss May .Howard in the different places irhere she has played. The jewels are nearly ill brilliants of the first water.
