MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE.
AN IMMIGRANT LOST.
fL??^™ n*»BenBer arrived this' morning from Helensville, and informs us that a new arrival by a recent ship, named John Giles, has disappeared in a most mysterious manner. It seems, from the information, that toe man in question was employed up to last Saturday on the railway works, six miles from Helensville. He wa^of sober and temperate habits, but of a turn ot mind, and shewed an unaccountable disposition towards bis mates. It seems that on Sunday night last he went out towards the creek that runs hard by the camp to wash some clothes, and from that time has not been seen or heard of. His mates have done all that they can to trace him without avail. He had on his person a silver lever and several pounds in cash. His clothes and provisions are left behind. There is a large bush close at hand, but whether he wandered into it is not known. The man has a sister living in some part of Parnell.
