CARLETON V. MANUKATJ.

A very interesting cricket match was played on the new ground iv the Domain on Saturday afternoon between the Mauukau aud CaVkton Clubs. The ground is now in fiae order, and would become much better if care were taken of it by all the trustees. The Manukau men woa the toss and sent their opponents to the wickets. These ran up a score of 84 before the last man was caught ou t —a result chiefly owing to the steady play of the last two men—Mears and T. Lawry. The Manukau men then went to the wickets, and were all oat for forty-eight run 3. In the second innings the score of 53 was made by the two firafc men of the Carleton before Mears was caught out. Time being nearly up, the stumps were drawn, the Carletoa thus winning by 35 runs in the first inaiag3.
