The Provincial Council is expected to close to-morrow or next day. The estimates have been passed appropriating over, £80,000 for the current financial year. . Yesterday afternoon, at the invitation of Messrs. Broaden, contractors, there was a, railway excursion of members of Council and friends to Waitangi and back. About 150 persons (a large proportion being ladies) availed themselves of the opportunity of travelling by rail for the first time m the province. A champagne luncheon was provided Mr Dunbar, in proposing the health of the Superintendent (unavoidably absent), referred to the great services his Honor had rendered to the province and colony in connection with public works.
