Sa; id that the Immigration Officer had called upon him that morning and informed him that everything wai ready for their reception at the Quarantine btation should it be deemed advisable to land tne passengers. Mr PA. Philips raised the question whether the Harbour Board were not the proper body to take the initiative the matter under the 2nd clause of the Act. Mr Beveridge gave his opinion against this. £ His Honor then asked Dr Philson whether he recommended the landing of the passengers. *

Dr. Philson replied that he thought it very advisable they should be landed, as the disease having appeared so recently it was uncertain how far it might spread. On the suggestion of Dr Philson it was reso.ved that the passengers be landed, and that measures be taken to fumigate the ship, passengers' effects, etc. It was also resolved that Dr Philson be empowered to take, discretionary measures for the health of the passengers. " On the motion of Captain Daldy it was resolved that the usual proclamation of the vessel being in quarantine be published in the Gazette.

His Honor undertook the appointment of a trustworthy person to communicate with the vessel.

It was further resolved on the recommendation of the Health Officer that means be taken to procure the release of the pilot. The Chairman was requested to forward the Health Officer's recommendations on this point to the Colonial Secretary, in order to obtain the necessary order in Council. This was all the business.

It was incidentally mentioned that the expense of maintaining the immigrants while in quarantine will fall upon the ship bj the terms of the charter.
