The race was run at Ellerslie instead of Epsom.
Mr Lupton's Eclipse, Cpnway, Bst 101b 1 Mr Edgar's Skiddo, Campbell, Bst 101b 2 The stakes were £10 a side. Betting was two to one on Eclipse. A good start was effected. Eclipse forged slowlj ahead, and was leading by two lengths at theitand. ' On far side Skiddo went up, but only on sufferance. Eclipse won by four lengt'is. Skiddo's jockey did not presume to flush.
