CRICKET.—AUCKLAND C.C. V. NORTH SHORE C.C.
This game was resumed at 2 o'clock this afternoon. Rees and Swanson, the not outs of last Saturday, resuming to the bowling of Buckland and Bennett. It will be recollected that when the game was broken off last week the North Shore had one wicket down in their second innings for sixty runs, having, yet seventy-two to get to save a one innings defeat. Whatever chance they had last Saturday the suburban men to-day made a very poor show, and after about forty minutes' play were all out with the poor addition to their scoi'e of 28, making a total for the innings of 88. They were thus beaten in one innings and 44 runs. Both bowlers were well on the spot. Buckland took three wickets and Bennett five, three of which, went down in the last over.
