POLICE COURT.
THIS DAY.
Before His Worship the Mayor, DBTTNKENNESS.
Several men were fined as usual for drunkenness and disorderly conduct; and a man charged with being drunk and disorderly denied the charge, and called a witness to disprove the constable's assertion. He was, however, fined twenty shillings and costs, or twenty-four hours' hard labour,
DISOBDEBXY BEHAYIOTTB. William Redmund was charged with behaving in a disorderly manner in a public street, to wife, Drake street, with intent to provoke a breach of the peace, on the 12th instant. . , , Mr. E, Meyer, for the prisoner, pleaded guilty, and explained that the disturbance arose out of domestic differences. The case was dismissed. LAECENY. John G-eorge was brought up on remand charged with atealing three pieces of timber from Fenton's yard, in Durham street, the property of S. A. Wilson. As there appeared some doubt in the case, the Court gave the prisoner the bensfit of it considering the time the prisoner had been in custody. The prisoner was discharged. OMITTING TO CHAIN A CAST WHEEL S. Finoh was charged with leaving his cart unattended in Cook street, without passing a chain through the near wheel thereof. The defendant was a milkman, and stated that he was under the impression that the bylaw did not apply to people of his craft before 8 o'clock in the morning. The Court fined him ss. and oosts. This concluded the business.
