ELECTION FOR CITY WEST.
RETURN OP MR. JOHN WILLIAMSON. A meeting of the electors in City West was held to-day, at the rooms of the Young Men's Christian Association, for the purpose of electing a representative in the room of Mr. Williamson, whose seat had been declared vacant. As it was known that no opposition would be offered to the return of Mr. Williamson there were few present. Colonel JBalneavis, the Returning Officer, having Tead the writ, and opened proceedings in the usual manner, Mr. Alexander Black proposed, and Mr. Boylan seconded, the nomination of Mr. John Williamson, who was in due form declared unanimously elected. The new member addressed a few remarks to the electors, and the proceedings terminated in the usual manner.
