THE LATE FIRE IN THE INSURANCE COMPANY'S BUILDINGS.
An inquest was held this afternoon, at the Metropolitan Hotel, for tho purpose of ascertaining the causes of tho recent fire in the New Zealand Company's Buildings in Queenstreet. The following gentlemen wero selected as a jury, viz., Messrß. Walter Graham, Henry Lewis, Samuel Vaile, S. W. Hill, A. Stewart, John Buchanan, James McClark, D. B. CruiCkshank, J. 0. Firth, Wm. Rattray, Thomas Williams, John McK. Shera, and W. T. Vance. Wm. Kattray was chosen foreman; and Mr. Hesketh attended on behalf of the Insurance Companies. Cyrus Haley was being examined when we went to press.
