By 9 a.m. 11 points were recorded at Akaroa and the rain continued with showers all day. The rain i? very beneficial in stimulating growth in pastures and gardens as the surface of the ground is caked. Frequent showers are always valutble in Octobei and it is hoped that the promise of a dry late spring will not be realised.
