NEW SITE T'O' BE: PURCHASED

The -Canterbury Education Board will proceed- with the purchase of the new iSecondaryS' School' sit© at once and- have written' to the- Akaroa, HighSchool' Board' • in. reference- to- their portion of the purchase money. It is probable the purchase will ba completed in about a month's tin*.3.

In regard to the erection of the new school it is- possible that this will' be proceeded with at a fairly ea'ly date as> ft is high u,p- on the

Canterbury .Board's- list approved of by the Education Department and' might possilbly be commenced before the end of the- year.

Although; nothing definitely has ■been stated' about the. matter it is possible that the- existing buildings will be pulled down- and the timber sold and' it is hoped' the money obtained from' this source l will go towards levelling out the grounds into playing areas, football and cricket ground, tennis courts etc. The Akaroa High School' Board have agreed to expend fil'so oil' the nelw school grounds when they are laid' out.
