VISIT OF H.M.S. DUNEDIN.

The 'Mayor has received' the fol lowing communication from Com modore Blake.
"With 'cforn-ee to mv previous letter dated 20th S-ptcir.ber. I new beg to inform you that I expect to arrive at .10 a.m. or. Saturday, oth October, and propose to anchor about half a mile from the Pier at Akarca, if this is convenient."
Until the Mayor visits the Commodore no definite programing can be stated. It is almost certain that the Dunedin will be open to visitors on Sunday afternoon. A number of games between local sports clubs, tennis, cricket and golf will be arranged and some social functions at which the ship's company will be present. The Mayor intends paying his official visit on Saturday" in the forenoon and the return visit of the Commodore will probably take place about 2. p.m. oil 'Saturday afternoon at the Akaioa Borough Council Chambers. The Akaixa Foi.tba!! flub have arranged a game of football with the Ship's team after the c ieket match between Wainui and Akaroa on the Recreation Ground on Saturday afternoon.
