TELEGRAMS FROM THE PREMIER.
THE tyAVAL DEFENCE BILL.
We received the following telegram from the Premier on Saturday :—
"I forward for publio information miin clauses of Australian and New Zealand Naval Defence Bill, dealing with agreement under which subsidy is to be paid.
(2) The aaid agreement is thereby ratified and approved.
(3) In eaoh year, during which the said sgreemenb la in force, and the service therein mentioned is rendered, there shall be issued and paid to His Majesty out of the Consolidated Fund for the purposes of the said agreement, a sum equal to one bwentie'.h part of the annual c>st referred to in Article VII of the said agroement, provided the sum payable, under this Act, shall nob In any one year exceed the sum of forty thousand pounds, and the Consolidation Fund is to that extent hereby appro' priabed accordingly. (4) On the expiration of six months from
