FOOTBALL.
OKAIN'S V. AKAROA.
The final match of the second round took place at Okain's on Saturday, when the local team, plaoing a strong team on the field, defeated Akaroa by nine points to nil, thus making a tie for flag points, and it will now bo necessary to play for the premiership. Akaroa was without the services of Goodwin, B. Mora and K. Nar bey, and throughout most of the game played a man short. The game was fast and interesting, the collaring on both Bides being very good indeed. From a thrown in, E. Mason secured the ball, and dashed over the line, whilst in the second Bpell, Hartley and Crotty from scrambles on the Red Hue were awarded tries, none of which were converted. The Mason's and M'lntosh were very prominent in the back division of Okain's, whilst Petersen and Orobty, in the forwards, put in a deal of work. For Akaroa—Woodill, J. Mora, Munro and Maguire worked hard to avert defeat. The tie will be played at Duvauchelle's, at 3 p.m., on Saturday next. The following team has been chosen to represent Okain's Football Club v. Akaroa at Duvauchelle next Saturday :—J. Hartley, L. Mcintosh, J. Mcintosh. W. Moore, E. G. Mason, R. C. Mason, R. Hartley, H. Ma9on, Cook, Kerr, F. Leonardo, B. E'annng, W. Marsh, C. Peterson and A. Mason.
