A PENINSULA WEDDING.

Oα Wednesday, Miss Marion Ethel Josephine Wrigh<, daughttr of Mr William Wiight, of French Farm, was nurried tc Mr Roland Reed, Mr Ke<d was born at French Farm as Well as his bride, being a son of that well kr own rrsident of that name. Like many oihers of our Feninsiila young men, Mr Reulwerfc to the Norih Island and now livts at Tongaroa, ie .- Pahiatua,where the happy couple will reside. Wednesday morning was pecula ly fine, and a large and merry|wedding party assembled. Thanka to slips and new culverts the road was simply execrable, but once at the home itead all wae forgotten in the warm sunshine and champagne like air. Many went for a' walk to see Mr Wright's splendid stockyard and cow btils, v,hioh are a sight tn make many a dairy fanner curious. We have never seen a better looking lot of cheese than that stored < a the capacious shelves of the cheese room, and the samples we tasted were of very fine fUvour, hhertly before noon the company assembled in one of the largest) rooms to witness the marriage ceremouy. It was performed by the Rev. W. Sedgwick, who read the beau , tiful service most impressively. Tte bride wore a violet dress, trimmed with silk of the same colour, with a white satin vest, The bridesmaids, the Misses Wright and Reed, sisters of the bride and bridegroom, alfo looked charming in dresses of a similar but darker tint, Mr Ernest Wright, brother of the bride, was best man, and Mr Win, Wright gave his daughter away. At the conclusion of the ceremony, an adjournment, was made to the diving room, whare a sumptuous breakfast was laid. Mr Jacobson acted as chairmin and was supported by the Rev W, v ed#wick, the Host and Bostesa facing them at the other end of the table. Mr Sedgwick proposed tho Bride and Briregroom, to which the latter very pleasantly responded, Mr Jacobson then proposed tho Host and Hostess, the father and rtother cf the bride, anil Mr Wright was most happy in his reply, concluding with propo>int> the Eev. Mrs Wright, the hostess, and her lady assistants, are to be congratulated not only on the variety and tastiness of the viands, but aleo on the admirable way in which they were cooked, carved and served. Ihere was a dai.ee in the evening which was very largely attend ed, and >e»terday morning the happy pair said goodbye to their friends and went to Lyttelton, via Pigeon Bay, on their way to their new home in the North.
