LITTLE RIVER ROAD BOARD.

m The ordinary monthly meeting of the Board was held on May 4th ; presentMessrs H. D, Buchanan, H. White, W. F. Parkinson, and J.O. Coop, Mr Buchanan was unanimously elected Chairman for the ensuing year. Correspondence was received from th© Railway Department, re .accommodation on Little River tram for passengers, carriage of e.tcok and goads traffic, From N Z. Accident Insurance Co., intim ating some alterations in the Act, and requesting if this Board would carry on Its policy under the altered conditions'. It was resolved that the Board do so, and that the extra premium be paid. From Mr Crump, asking if the Board intended to sell a white pine tree in Western Valley. i It was decided not to sell. A copy of the balance sheet was submitted and considered satisfactory. It was resolved that notice be served on all owners and occupiers of land abuttirg on the river at Little River to cub down and remove all trees aud other obstructions to the free flow of the water, and, failing com* pliance, that steps be taken by the Board to do so at the expense of each of the parties. It was reported that the petition re for matlon of tha new County is in circulation, and this was approved. After passing accounts for payment tbe Board adjourned,
