THE BOER DELEGATES.

The names of the Boer delegates are : — Mr W. L. Jooste, Hartebeestfontein, near Klerksdorp, Transvaal j H. T. Rood, Pretoria, Transvaal; J. Moody Lane, Klerksdorp. Mr Ritchie stated that the Agricultural Department had promised the Beer delegates to send several sacks of cocksfoot to each to be tried in their respective districts.

Many of the leading residents of Little River, including Messrs Montgomery, Buchanan, Harris, Paton, Coop, etc., met the Boer party on their arrival at Little River, and they partook of an exceedingly nice lunch kindly provided by Mrs Coop, after inspecting the cocksfoot cleaning machinery of Messrs Coop Bros. The " Timea "of Tuesday wrote :—" The Boer delegates, accompanied by Mr J. D. Ritchie, Secretary ot Agriculture, left by the 840 a.m. train on Monday for Little River. Oa arrival there they visited Mr Coop's farm, where they were able to see some cocksfoot threshing. Their stay was limited to about an hour, and after being entertained at lunch by Mr Coop, they caught the train for Lincoln. There they were met by Pi ofessor Lowrie, who showed them over the Co lege farm. The afternoon wis spent in inspecting the sheep, cattle, pigs and crops, and the delegates returned to town by the tvening train well pleased with the day's outing."

The •• Lyttelton Times " of Wednesday says :—" The Boer delegates left town by the eight o'clock train on Tuesday morning for Hororata, where they were entertained by hir John Hall. The chief business was an inspection of his merino flock, in which they were greatly interested. After making numerous enquiries about the flock, they Mere of the opinion that merinoes were eminently euited to the cllmati conditions of their own country. The delegates returned to town hy the even.irg.train, well satisfied w ilh their day's outing."

Today they will go as for as Tairri, and on Saturday they will return from Dunedin by the exprese and go straight through to Lyttelton to catch the ateamei s for Wellington.
