m The annual meeting was hild at the Hill Top Hotel on Saturday night. PresentMessrs Buchanan (Chairman) Bradley, W. Gebbie, J. C. C. Gebbie, J. Buchanan, J. Montgomery, E. E. Lelievre, R. Latter, H. 0. Jaoobson, and T. Quealy (Hoc. Sec). minutes. The minutes of the pre\ ioua annual meeting were read and confirmed. Apologies for absence from Mr L. Wilson and Mr W. Parkinson word received.

BALANCE SHEET. The balatce Bheet was read as under :— Receipts—Balance brought forward £162 3s Id, nominations £90 14s, acceptances £50 Is, totalisator dividend on £2896 at 7 per oent £132 15s, surf lus £25 7s at 50 per c*<ib £12 13s 6d, sale of race oards £16 lis Id. riders' and trainers' licenses 10a, gates £44 lis Bd, members' subscriptions to date £29 Bs, fish booth £2, publican's booth £10, luncheon beoth £3 10s, sale of haok £16, total £570 7s 4d. Qubaly, Hon. Sec. The balance sheet had been duly audited anrt certified to by Mr R. Latter. Mr Bradley moved the adoption of the balance sheet as read. Seconded by Mr Lelievre. The Chairman said the experdi ure on the Course after last yoar would be very small, but a stand was very badly required. Before this was done, however, it was necessary the lease should be signed, and it would be nece sary to appoint three members to sign. Mr Nutt was willing to lease for ten years. Mr Bradley eaid considering the large sum spent in improvements he considered the balenca theet eminently satisfactory. The stewards concurred and the balanca sheet was uuauimously adopted. Thh Lease. On the motion . f Mr Litter, seconded by Mr Lelievre, the Chairman and Me«srs W. Gebbie Jand Jno. Montgomery ware appointed to sign the lease with Mr Nutt. THB RACING DISTRICT. Mr Bradley moved the notice of motion standing in his name—That the Racing District be coi.fined to the County of Akaroa with the Boroughs t_f Akaroa and Lyttelton. He wai sure the bu'k of the members were in favour of the alteration. Mr W. D. Gebbie, in senonding, thought they should stick to the County boundaries and not icclnde the rest of the Ellesmere electorate. Mr J. C. C. Gebbie also strongly sup ported the notice of motion. On being put the resolution was lost, 3 voting for and 5 against it. CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence was read from Mr D. B. Mm, apologising for failing to scratch hi-i horse. The apology was accepted. Krom the New Zealand Racing Conference re date of meetirg. Also stating that date of meeting Lad bc.n authorised ior 11th March. The Hon. Secretary stated that he had given the date and asked that his action be authorised Mr Quealy'a action was approved. TOTALISATOR. With regard to the totali ator, Mr Lelievre proposed that the Club pay out on the first and second horses in all races in the same way &a that authorised by the C.J.C. Seconded by Mr W. Nomination 9s, acceptance 8i 6d. RULES. 1. Rules cf New Zealand Jockey Clubs and Trotting Associatious adhered to. 2. Tne Rac : ng District comprises the whole of the County of Akaroa, the Ellesmere Electoral District, and Boroughs of Aka-oa and Lyttelfon. 3 The winner of any race, after declara tion of weights to carry a penalty of 71b., and for every additional race 51b extra in all flat handicaps; and the winner of any hurdle race, after declaration of weights, to carry 101b extra. 4. District be the bona fide property, for not less than three months prior to the date of race meeting, of resi dents within the Club's racing di«tri-* ; and any owner wishing to train outside the district must obtain a permit to do so, signed by any two Stewards of the Club. 5. Nominations for all handicap races must be in the hands of the Secretary at Little River not later than 8 o'clock p m on February the 22nd. Weigh a to appear as soon as practicable after tnat date. 6. Acceptances acd general entries not later than March 4rh, as above. 7. All nominations to be accompanied with fee, pedigree, and account of previous performances. 8. Colours to be worn by riders to be dscribed when forwarding nominations, under a penalty of £2. MISCELLANEOUS. A proposal of Mr Latter'a to reduce the amount of acceptance was not agreed to. It was dejided to guarantee tr*in as usual and apply to railway authorities for refund of portion of prof ta in excess of guarantee. THANKS. Accounts amounting to £25 19a 3d were passed for payment and the meeting adjourned.
