FARMERS' ASSOCIATION.
A "meeting of this Association was held on Saturday Mr Bruce presiding. It was decided a petition should be prepared and signed for presentation »o Parliament, asking tor more equitable railway rates between Lyttelton and Cbristclaurcfl ; also that said petition -should be ready ol Friday next for signature at the Sale Yards. A good deal of re-fltiae business was transacted and it waa specially mentioned that Mr Sawers was (ia response to the Association's reqiest) visiting Peninsula dairy farms »nd giving useful instructions. He had been at Pigeon and Robinßon's j Bays, »nd ww going to Mr H. Haylock's j at Onuku.
