Chamber of Commerce, to tbe effect that the Society is of opinion that the grading of butter and cheese by experts in New Zealand will be very costly, that it would not be conclusive evidence ef quality with foreign buyers ; and it thinks the mailer should bo taken more in the direction of protecting brands and trade marks by making it penal to imitate them. The Society also suggests that the Bill now introduced by the Government on tbis subject Bhould bo sent to the different Chambers of Commerce, dairy associations, and agricultural societies, bo as to give them an opportunity of considering and reporting op. it before being presented to Parliament.
