LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL.
July 5. The following Bills were read a first time on the motion of Sir P. Buckley :— The L-»nd Transfer Act Amendment Act. 1892, New Zealand Instituto of Surveyors Act, 1892, the Libel Act. 1892. The second readings of the Registration of Births, Marriages, and Deaths Act Amendment Bill, Settled Lnnd Act Amendment Bill, Adulteration Prevention Acts Restriction Bill, Provincial Ordinances Bill. Testamentary Trusts Restriction Bill, and Minister of Justice (Technical Dofocts Removal) Bill were agreed to, the three last being reteTred to Select Committees. July 6 Regulations were adopted for election of Speaker. The following Bills were raid a first time : —Unclaimed Lands Act, 1892, New Zealand Company's Land Claimants Act, 1892. The Instilnte of Surveyors and Libel Bills passed their Becond readings. The Registration of Births and Deaths Amendment Bill passod through Committee without amendment, and waa so reported.
