PIGEON BAY ROAD BOARD.
Tho ordinary meeting of the abovo Board was hold on Saturday. S)pt 6th. Present—Messrs Scott (chairuun), White, Holmes, Lyall.
From tbo Marino Department in roply to letter asking if a special rate for repairs at tho j tty vvou d moot with approval. ThP reply stated that it id a matter in which the Government h not concerned.
From tho trustees of tho late R. H. Rhodes giving notice to remove name from rate roll as tho property had been sold.
The Chairman stated (hat the contract for fencing at Holmes' Bay was completed, and that the stone wall recently damaged by tho sea had been repaired. The following lenders for road formation at Holmes' Bay were received ; —
No. 1 contract—J, E>rridge £8(5 ; Pettigrew & Co, £99 9-t ; M. B-uday £65 (accepted).
No. 2. contract—J. Kerridgn £99 10-; Pettigrew & Co. £79 9s ; M. 13arcl«y £55 (accepted)
It was resolved to call tenders for the supply t ,f timber for tlin erection of bridges on No. I.contract. Holmes' Bay. Mr Lyill proposed and Mr White soconded—'• That immediate steps ba taken to havo (He control of main road vested in the Council."—Carried.
Tho Clerk waa directed to give notice to several ratepayers to remove gorso from tho roado.
After passing accounts to the amount of £44 le4d ihe Board adjourned.
