A ease, which created a good deal of Interest in Clyde was heard at the sitting of the Magistrate's Court on Tuesday of last week. The case was that in which William Wilmot Wheatland, licensee of the Hartley Arms Hotel, Clyde, Was. before the magistrate on two ehazges, one being obstructing the police and-the other with aiding and abetting Tom Marshall to be on licensed premises after hours. The "Dunstan Times" did not report this ease. We have a full account of the proceedings as'far as the adjournment to Dunedin, end win publish this in our next issue.

At Che Borough Council meeting on Monday night Cr Burgess brought up a very important matter and one that required immediate attention. He asked that the Donstan Hospital, at Clyde, be connected up with the Alexandra Exchange, instead of at present being a toll call. The position was made quite clear and the inconvenience of the present state of affairs emphasised by several councillors. The town clerk was instmeted to write the Vincent Hospital Board asking that this be done.
