NEW-BOOK CLUB.
A GREAT BOON TO COUNTRY MEMBERS. Sir James Parr, the PostmasterGeneral, announced recently that on the Ist January a new cheap postal rate—the cheapest postage in the world—would be inaugurated for the exchange of books between libraries and their, subscribers and between Recognised Book Clubs and their sub-, scribers. The rate is 2d only for the first pound, and a penny for each additional pound up to 51b. This should prove a boon to residents in Central Otago, as it would enable them to enjoy the privilege of obtaining books at a very small cost in the matter of postage. Readers wishing to keep abreast of th'e times and enjoy the most popular books of the day should take advantage of these wonderful .postal facilities and enrol as members of the New-Book Club at Whitcombe and Tombs, Ltd., Dunedin. For- further particulars see advt. elsewhere in this issue.
