BECKS NOTES.

(Own Correspondent.)

The weather in the Becks district has been very unsettled these last few weeks, with cold winds and light showers. Most of the harvest is finished and some farmers have threshed but the.wheat in most cases has not come to expectations. The Manuherikia bridge at Becks is looking as if there is going to be something done to it shortly. The Public Works have three men on it at present and the other contractors are expected along shortly.. This bridge has been closed for over three years, so it is time that a start, was made. The cricket season is over as far as the Becks team is concerned, they being unable to raise a team for future matches. The record of the club for the season is four wins and four losses. The following is the baiting

The Dr. Sherman method of treating rupture is diametrically different to the ordinary truss method, which exerting a downward." spreading " pressure, absolutely prevents healing, as it pushes the ruptured walls apart. Thus, when once worn, it has to be worn practically a lifetime. On an exactly opposite principle, the Dr. Sherman method exerts an upward " contractile " pressure, holding the injured membrance in such a way that it heals ; and this healing is aided by the application of a useful adjunct in the form of a curative compound. The result is startling. Belief is instant and instead of rupture remaining stationary or growing worse, it gradually becomes smaller and ultimately disappears This has been Droved in eases of 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 years standing. The following testimonial is only one of tbe many paying tributes to the efficacy of the Dr. J. A. Sherman method of .curing rupture, anrf bearing out the foregoing statements: — 122, Nith street, Invereargill.

"A. W. Martin, Esq., Dear Sir, —I am now feeling so well that I think I should, for the benefit of all sufferers, give my testimony regarding my case, which is the more convincing seeiDg that it is over three years since I underwent treatment. Before trying your treatment by Dr. Sherman method of curing rupture, I had been suffering for about 17 years from arup ture in my right side, and had worn a variety of trusses, all failing to retain the rupture. It is now over 10 years since I discarded the app iance, and I have very great pleasure in stating that I have not been troubled with a return of my old complaint. Thanks to your skilful treatment, I found relief from the very start and I now realise that meeting you was the most fortunate event in my life. You can* make whatever use of this letter you may think fit, and I will be pleased to answer any communication which may be addressed to me by sufferers. Wishing you unbounded sucoess. —I remain, yours sincerely. "ARTHUR K. STUOK." Mr Martin may be consulted at his Rooms, Samson's Buildings, I fowling street Duuediu.
