Easter Sports Gatherings.

THREE CENTRES CO-OPERATE

The conference of representatives from the three centres of Alexandra, Clyde ,and Omakau in regard to cooperating in the annual Easter sports gatherings, was held on Monday evening last. After a full discussion in which delegates found themselves very much in agreement, it was decided to recommend that the events for professional races be 75yds, 100 yds, 135 yds (Sheffield), and 220 yds. Prize money for the Sheffield to be and for the others j£6 each. - For amateurs, recommended that each centre include five events :

Omakau on Easter Saturday to have rooyds, 440 yds, SBoyds, relay race and a hop, step and jump.' Clyde on Easter Monday 100 yds, 440 yds, one mile, relay race and long jump.

Alexandra on Easter Tuesday 220 yds, 440 yds, one mile, relay race and long jump Trophies value £2 zs first and £1 is second for all the racing events except the relay race, which consisting of teams of four, would be trophies to each of the winning team of value £1 each. Trophies for jumping value 30s and xos. In addition Mr A. Anderson offered to donate a gold medal value £$ 3s for most points secured in the amateur, events over the three gatherings. It 4gas also decided to recommend thatirhe three clubs subscribe £1 is each towards offering a gold medal value £3 3s for most points gained in the professional events over the three meetings-. Correspondence submitted to the conference ' showed that good support was promised to the amateur events, and Harrier Clubs in town were already showing interest in the gatherings.

The above are recommendation' which will be submitted to the respective clubs for confirmation.
