M'Auliffa was unable to oalinae the secretaryship, so the president was authorised to try and secure a substitute. The office bearers appointed 1 ist year when no show was held were re-elected. A schedule committee was appointed to revise tho schedule. The Saturday before the Du.cJin Carnival Week was suggested as the best date for the local show. Stone fruit, fijwers and vegetables would then be in season. " The local apple show held at Alexandra in 1917 was so successful that the members present were of the opinion that another Apple Show ghoul 1 be held some time in May, a week before the Dunedin Winter Show. This would serTe a double purpose—give an interesting local apple exhibition, and the bast of the exhibits could be forwarded on to the W inter Show and make a goal display and a good advertisement for Central fruit. The idea met with S3 much approval that a resolution was unanimously passed commending the proposal to the consideration of the members at a future meeting.
