Weekly Produce Report.

Messrs T. E* Shiel and Co., fruit and produce auctioneers, Dunedin, report as follows fur week ending October 14th : -

Potato market is dull and .we advise holders to sell now, as new potatoes have already made their appearance in the North Island. The demand is very strong for Derwents which are worth up to £4 per ton. Up-to-dates, prime samples in new sack from £2 15s to ,£3 ; medium up to £2 10s. Seed. —The demand for these has gone completely oil", nominally £2 per ton. Wheat.—There is a good demand for large whole fowl wheat, which is worth 3s 10J to 4s ; smutted 3s Gd to 3s 8d ; broken 3s 3d.

Oats.—Demand steady with fair enquiry for good seed lines. We quote : Bright long Tartars, Duns, Sutherlands, Sparrowbills, seed lines from Is 7d to Is B£d on trucks, Feed oats.—Bright well filled Danish, Duns, and Tartars Is 7id ; Gartons Is B.Jd, discolored Is 6d.

Hay.—Priinest clover 55s to•s7s (id per ton. Feed barley.—Good bright lines, 2s 3d to 2s 4d per bushel.

Poultry.—Extreme rates are ruling at present for these. We are holding daily sales, and will be pleased to supply crates or information asked for on application. Ducks are the lines that are realising the most rales worth up to 6s Gd per pair for large well-conditioned birds ; ordinary up to 5s ; roosters, choice plump, 3s Dd to is per pair ; hens 3s Gd ; turkey (cocks) B}d to 9d per lb ; hens Gd to 7d.

Produce. —Eggs arc selling freely at present. We have an enquiry for 7000 dozen eggs for September—October delivery r-and we can guarantee lid with the probability of securing lljd. Butter.—Slow sale, separator pats 8d to 0d per lb; storekeepers' pats 7d to 8d per lb ; bulk butter 6d; farmers separator M; best separator bulk, salted in sGlb, 8d to Bid. Butter boxes—SGlbs, IGs Gd; 281b, 10s ; 141b, 8s 6d per doz. Parchments for same, Is per doz. Honey.—Best white clover, slow sale 3.Jd per lb.

Cheese. —Fine tasty Akaroa, sjd per lb ; factory sfd. - Preserved ginger. —7lb and 141b boxes, 7d per lb. Fruit.—Ripe bananas 2(1 per lb ; green 10s Gd'per case. Sydney oranges—7s per case ; is.laud oranges to arrive 10s Gd per case ; Sevilles for marmalade 5s ; Poormans ss. Apples. -Choice Hobart Stunners, !)s Gd per case; French crabs 8s Gd ; local stunners 2|d per lb ; American dessert apples, j«st arrived, fine fruit, 13s per case. Cucumbers.—Local hothouse, 10s to 12s per dozen. Rhubarb Id per lb. Cabbages 3s to 4s per sack ; cauliflowers 8s to 4s per sack.
