SALE OF CROWN LANDS.
A sale of sections in the townships of Clyde, Roxburgh, and Waihola took place at the Land Office on Tuesday, 16th inst. There was an attendance of about 20 persons, but bidding was not spirited. Mr W. E. Sessions acted as auctioneer.
In Clyde 30 sections were sold. Messrs Robert A. Ewing and Ralph Ewing purchased 20 of these at from £1 to £2. per section ; Mrs Grace M. Symes five at the same figure; and Messrs Stevens four at £1 per section and one at £1 ios. The area in each case was 1 rood, except two sections purchased by Mrs Symes, the area of which was about ir 2op. Five sections in Roxburgh were disposed of to Mr John H. Waigth as follows :—Section 17, block xvn, ir, £1 ; sections 19 and 25, block xvn, 1 3op, £\ 7s 6d ; section 20, block xvn, 2r up, £5 13s 9d ; section 8, block xxi, 3r gp, 2s 6d; section 9, block xxm, 2r i2p, £7 15s.
