A SHBURTON ELECTRIC POWER BOARD. PROPOSED APPLICATION FOR SANCTION TO RAISE LOAN. "VTOTICE is hereby given that the Ashburton Electric Power Board proposes at its meeting, to be held at its Office in Ashburton on the ilsth JANUARY, 1951, to consider a motion to apply to the Local Government Loans Board for its sanction to the borrowing of the sum of £BO,OOO for the purpose of the further reticulation of the Board’s District. The proposed loan will be secured by a rate of one-eighth of a penny in the pound on the capital value of the rateable property in the District. It is anticipated that the security rate will not be collected, but that the annual costs of the loan will be met from revenue. The proposed term of the loan is 20 years at a rate of interest not exceeding 3g%. _ .... Any person having any objection to the proposed application is called upon to submit the same in writing to the Ashburton Electric Power Board not later than the day preceding the said meeting.
