POWER CRISIS GRAVE

BLACKOUTS IN SYDNEY (Rec. 11.0 a.ra.) SYDNEY, This Day. The electric power crisis is now so grave that even with drastic power restrictions introduced from midnight last night the Electricity Commissioner, Mr H. G. Gonde, expeete blackouts every day for at least a fortnight. Yesterday every district in Sydney was blacked out at least once and many twice for periods varying from 30 minutes to two hours. The damage caused by the fire at the White Bay powerhouse will take up to a year to repair. Two new Diesel generating units ordered from England to amplify the service will not be delivered before January.
