BAY COMPETITION

FOURTH WOMEN’S INSTITUTE • DISPLAY The fourth bay competition organised by the Mid-Canterbury Federation of Women's Institutes will be staged in Ashburton on Friday next. There will be 22 bays, which indicates that all the institutes in the federation are taking part. Each bay will comprise 20 exhibits, the several items being of the choice of the exhibiting institute. Floral displays, with exhibits of cookery, handwork and the products of home arts in profusion will constitute the different bays. The judges will be members of the North Otago Federation, and all displays are on a competitive basis, the winners being awarded a trophy presented by the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company.
