ARBOR DAY
TINWALD OBSERVANCE The official and practical observance of Arbor Day in the district took place at the Tinwald Domain yesterday, when pupils of the Tinwald School, representatives of various organisations and citizens participated in a tree-planting ceremony. During the afternoon the chairman of the Domain Board (Mr A. J. Millichamp) made reference to the value and purpose of tree-planting, and also gave advice to the senior pupils of the school and others who planted trees, on the correct manner to plant these. The two types of trees planted were western red cedar and Cupressus Arizonica.
