Libraries Grow
A survey of libraries, the first since 1938, was made by the Government last year. The growth of these institutions is indicated by the following comparative figures, for 1938 and 1949 respectively: Volumes in stock (juvenile 94,359, 169,208; (other), 1,117,139, 1,360,454. Circulation figures are: For 1935, 555,807 juvenile and 4,207,272 other; for 1949, 1,265,249 juvenile and 6,506,758 other.
