PERSONAL
Mesdames S. G. Holmes (Methven) and M. M. Curtis (Ashburton) left for Christchurch to-day to attend the annual Dominion Red Crces conference, being held in Christchurch. The conference will extend over three days. The recent death in Timaru of Mr William Pratley recalls his long connection with Ashburton, in which town he arrived with his parents in 1885. He was an early member of the Primitive Methodist Church in Ashburton, and was a brother of Mr J. T. Pratley of Ojfford Street.
