BRITISH SHIP ATTACKED
CHINESE NATIONALISTS CONTINUE BLOCKADE (Rec. 10.50). HONG KONG, June 21. Officers and crew of the stranded British ship Anhui were taken off "by the* rescue ship Hanyang when an- attack by Nationalist aircraft occurred this afternoon. / 1 To-day’s incident at Swatow follows the warning of June 14 by the Nationalist authorities in Formosa that the China coast is still blockaded, and ships of any nationality found entering 1 Communist ports would be attacked. Since then the Panamanian ships Valve and Santos have been mined near Shanghai, and the Anhui mined off Swatow. The Nationalists claim to have attacked and sunk or damaged many small Communist ships along the coaet during period. ' According to / unconfirmed reports received to-night, Nationalist aircraft to-day attacked the small Norwegian registered freighter Lady Wolmer about"*3o miles south of Swatow. Reports said that one Chinese officer was wounded by machine-gun bullets. British and foreign shipping companies- which recently resumed services between Hong Kong and blockaded ports have again cancelled sailings for the time being. The captain of a British ship which returned to -Hong Kong from Shanghai to-day said the Nationalists would not dare send, any aircraft to the vicinity of Shanghai or the blockade patrols there, as there were about a dozen Russian type jet-aircraft over the city daily.—Reuter. /
